On the way, I hear a train whistle as the Coast Starlight continues its journey to Martinez and Oakland before aiming south to San Jose, Salinas, Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Oxnard, Simi Valley, Van Nuys and Los Angeles, where a connecting train spirals off to various Southern California stations until it reaches San Diego.
